I received a question about obituaries for both Olivia and
Brita. This is what I have:
Mrs. Olivia Rask
Olofson was born in Bollnäs, Hälsingland, Sweden, November 18, 1862,
and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charlie Lundgren, near Stratford, March
18, 1943, following an illness of several months. She was confirmed in the
Lutheran faith in Sweden.
In 1882 she came to America and was united in marriage in
1889 to William Edward Olofson. This union was blessed with five children. Her
husband, one son, and one daughter preceded her in death.
Those left to mourn are Vernie Olofson, Mrs. Lily Lundgren
of Stratford, and Maude Linn of Dayton, and eight grandsons as well as other
relatives and hosts of friends.
Last rites were held in the Charles Lundgren home Sunday
afternoon, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. C.S. Erickson, pastor of the
Lutheran church. He used for his text: Job. 7-6 "My Days are Sifter than
the Weevil's Shuttle." Three solos were sung by Mrs. C.S. Erickson,
"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "Does Jesus Care?", and
"Shall We meet Beyond the River."
Interment was in the Hardin Township cemetery and the
following were pallbearers: Oscar Johnson, Emil Berglund, Elmer Ferlen, Roy
Housberg, Lloyd Anderson and Oscar Anderson.
